I’m a third-generation descendant of a daring escape from the Soviet Union to China in 1918 — think Cold War drama, but with more walking. This led to a childhood zig-zagging from Taiwan to Thailand to Hong Kong to Mumbai, like a real-life game of "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?"

Eventually, I found myself leading creative teams in LA and NY, cutting my teeth at MTV, NBCUniversal, and The Atlantic. Turns out my uncommon backstory has given me a keen sort of spidey sense – the ability to spot signals where others see noise.

Along the way, I participated in rally racing across Morocco (because cars like sand, right?), scripted Bollywood hits (spoiler: everyone dances), and documented Danny Way as he jumped the Great Wall of China on a skateboard.

My wife and two kids remain unimpressed.
